Inverness County is situated in the Western and Northern part of Cape Breton and borders the Atlantic Ocean and the Bras d’Or Lake. Inverness County promises some of the most spectacular scenic views and breathtaking scenery. The Municipality of Inverness County, established in 1879, has a population of 13,313 (2011 Census). The Municipality has typically provided services under four main departments of: Administration, Finance & Taxation, Public Works and Tourism & Recreation.
